Paintings
Oil painting is my favorite technique. It is immediate and the colors are brilliant. My training is classical and to acquire ‘an eye,’ for visual accuracy, I painted from life. While the Impressionists were strong influences during my early training, working as a graphic designer tightened my style, and some of my contemporary influences are Georgia O’Keeffe, Charles W. Bartlett, Frances Gearhart The Group of Seven, Rene Magritte, and Remedios Varo.
I spent a couple of weeks cycling in Tuscany and captured images that spoke to me. The equine portraits incorporate emotion, pattern, and drama.
